US Cash Grains-Corn, soy basis mostly steady-firm on slow farmer sales

CHICAGO, Jan 16 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for corn and soybeans delivered to U.S. Midwest elevators and processors were mostly steady to higher on Friday as farmer selling remained slow following steep market declines this week, dealers said.

Farmers were holding on to supplies they have in storage bins after prices fell sharply on Monday and have yet to rebound.
Benchmark Chicago Board of Trade corn futures Cv1 fell 4.7% this week, the biggest weekly decline since July. Soybeans Sv1 were down 0.6% in the week.
