ReutersJan 16, 2026 9:40 PM

- PJM Interconnection, the largest U.S. power grid operator, issued a cold‑weather advisory for its western region for Monday and another for its entire footprint, spanning 13 states and Washington, D.C., for Tuesday.

The measure is intended to ensure generators have time to ready their units for cold-weather operation and to provide PJM with details on their availability, capabilities and operational limits.

The grid operator expects to have 180,800 megawatts of winter operational capacity to serve its seasonal forecasted peak demand for this winter.
