Marathon reports fire put out at Galveston Bay, Texas refinery

Jan 13 (Reuters) - Marathon Petroleum Corp MPC.N reported on Tuesday that a fire was extinguished at its 631,000 barrel-per-day (bpd) Galveston Bay refinery in Texas City, Texas.
The fire was reported on January 12 at its alkylation unit 2 operating area when residual hydrocarbons ignited while draining a vessel, the company said in a filing with state pollution regulators.
