US Plains HRW Wheat-Basis bids flat as futures tick down

ReutersDec 11, 2025 8:11 PM

- Spot basis bids for hard red winter wheat were unchanged in the U.S. Plains states on Thursday as futures edged down.

  • The U.S. wheat crop is in dormancy as dryness is expected to expand in the southern U.S., according to Commodity Weather Group. However, the crop has low moisture needs at the moment.

  • There are some winterkill risks in parts of the U.S. Midwest, but snow cover in most areas has been sufficient.

  • K.C. March hard red winter wheat KWH26 futures last traded down 1 cent at $5.22-1/4 per bushel.
