CIF/FOB Gulf Grain-Soybean barge bids mostly steady as market awaits Chinese buying

CHICAGO, Nov 25 (Reuters) - Basis bids for soybeans shipped by barge to the U.S. Gulf Coast were mostly unchanged on Tuesday, underpinned by buying interest from Chinese importers and expectations for further soy sales to the top importer, traders said.

• Chinese buyers have been asking for U.S. soybean offers this week, but traders could not confirm if any sales have been finalized. Chinese importers have booked only minor purchases since a flurry of buying last week.

• Demand from other importers was muted as cheaper supplies were available from Brazil.

• Basis bids for CIF Gulf November soybean barges were unquoted on Monday on offers around 72 cents a bushel over Chicago Board of Trade January SF26 futures. December barge bids were steady at 76 cents over futures. January barge bids were 83 cents over futures, unchanged from Monday.

• FOB export premiums for soybeans loaded in December and January were steady at around 103 cents over CBOT January SF26 futures. Values were supported by tight loading capacity.

• CIF Gulf corn basis bids were mostly steady, underpinned by good export demand and an active export loading pace.

• South Korean importers booked several cargoes of corn on Tuesday, including purchases from the United States.

• CIF Gulf corn barges loaded in November were bid about steady at 78 cents a bushel over CBOT December CZ25 futures. December barge bids were unchanged at 81 cents over futures.

• FOB export premiums for December corn shipments held steady at around 105 cents over futures.
