US Cash Grains-Corn basis steady-firmer, soy mostly flat

CHICAGO, Nov 20 (Reuters) - Basis bids for corn were mostly higher while soy bids were mostly steady on Thursday as Chicago Board of Trade futures fell.

• Farmers took advantage of a previous rally in prices to sell off some of their recently harvested crop, dealers said.

• The USDA reported export sales of U.S. corn for the week ended October 2 at 2,259,700 metric tons, toward the high end of a range of trade expectations for 1,400,000 to 2,500,000 tons.

• The USDA confirmed private sales of 462,000 metric tons of U.S. soybeans to China, marking the third soybean "flash" sales announcement this week.

• The USDA separately reported export sales of U.S. soybeans for the week ended October 2 at 919,400 metric tons, in line with a range of trade expectations for 600,000 to 1,600,000 tons.

• Chicago Board of Trade corn and soybean futures were lower in midday trading. CBOT December corn CZ25 was last down 2-3/4 cents to $4.27 a bushel and January soybeans SF26 were down 9-3/4 cents to $11.27 a bushel. GRA/
