FRANKFURT, Nov 5 (Reuters) - German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said on Wednesday that the steel industry was of strategic importance to Germany, a day ahead of a summit he is hosting with steel industry leaders.
"Germany needs the steel industry — competitive, future-proof, modern... It secures jobs and value chains. It secures our country's prosperity," Merz said in a post on X.
