US Cash Grains-Soybean, corn basis steady to higher at multiple locations

CHICAGO, Oct 22 (Reuters) - Soybean and corn basis bids were flat to up at elevators, processors, ethanol plants and river terminals in the U.S. Midwest on Wednesday, a spot check of locations showed.

• The soybean basis rose 5 cents at processors in Lafayette, Indiana, Council Bluffs, Indiana and Lincoln, Nebraska, as well as a river terminal in Davenport, Iowa.

• The corn basis rose at a processor in Decatur, Illinois and an ethanol plant in Union City, Indiana, as well as river terminals in Toledo, Ohio and Seneca, Illinois.

• On the Chicago Board of Trade, soybean futures rose on Wednesday, as markets remained hopeful for progress in trade talks with top soy buyer China and a Japanese proposal to increase U.S. soy purchases, deals that could help U.S. farmers avert major losses. GRA/
