MOSCOW, Oct 9 (Reuters) - The Russian defence ministry said on Thursday that Ukrainian forces had blown up an ammonia pipeline near the settlement of Rusyn Yar in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine.
Reuters could not independently confirm the incident. There was no immediate comment from Ukraine.
"In order to slow down the advance of Russian Armed Forces units... the Ukrainian Armed Forces mined a branch of the Togliatti-Odesa ammonia pipeline," the defence ministry said on Telegram.
This resulted in "the release of ammonia residues through the damaged section" but there were no casualties among Russian forces, it said.
