US Cash Products-Gulf Coast gasoline, diesel fall after brief Colonial outage

NEW YORK, Oct 2 (Reuters) - Cash differentials for gasoline and diesel fell in muted trading on the U.S. Gulf Coast on Thursday, after a brief outage of the Colonial Pipeline, traders said.

Colonial Pipeline, the largest U.S. fuel conduit that moves millions of barrels of gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and other refined products from the U.S. Gulf Coast to the East Coast, was shut early on Thursday for unplanned system maintenance. It restarted by noon EDT, the company said.

Gulf Coast M3 conventional gasoline RU-DIFF-USG was unchanged at 9 cents higher than the gasoline futures benchmark RBc1 on the New York Mercantile Exchange, while A3 CBOB gasoline CBOB-DIFF-USG fell half a cent to 3 cents below futures, traders said.

Gulf Coast 62-grade ultra-low sulfur diesel ULSD-DIFF-USG fell 0.35 cent to 6.5 cents below the ULSD futures benchmark HOc1.

Chicago CBOB gasoline CBOB-DIFF-MC was unchanged at 8 cents below futures, while ULSD ULSD-DIFF-MC fell 3 cents to 5 cents below diesel futures, traders said.

Elsewhere in the Midwest, Group 3 V-grade gasoline RUV-DIFF-G3 fell half a cent to 12.5 cents below the benchmark. Diesel ULSD-DIFF-G3 fell three quarters of a cent to 8.75 cents below futures.

Gasoline futures fell 3.49 cents to settle at $1.851 a gallon, while ULSD futures fell 5.84 cents to close at $2.2435.

Renewable fuel (D6) credits RIN-D6-US for 2025 traded at 98 cents each, up from between 95 cents and 95.75 cents each in the previous session, traders said.

Biomass-based (D4) credits RIN-D4-US traded up to 101 cents, from 98.5 cents and 99.5 cents each previously, traders said.
