US Plains HRW Wheat-Basis bids remain steady, farmers plant next crop

ReutersSep 29, 2025 5:12 PM

- Basis bids for hard red winter wheat were unchanged at elevators in the southern U.S. Plains on Monday, dealers said, as plantings picked up speed.

  • Farmers were focused on harvesting corn and planting wheat that will be harvested next spring.

  • Warm and dry weather was expected to favor HRW wheat plantings and germination this week, weather forecaster Vaisala said.

  • The U.S. Department of Agriculture was slated to issue an update on winter wheat planting and corn harvesting in a weekly progress report due at 3 p.m. CDT (2000 GMT).

  • K.C. December hard red winter wheat KWZ25 was up 3-1/2 cents at $5.09 a bushel by 11:45 a.m. CDT.
