CHICAGO, Sept 26 (Reuters) - Chicago Board of Trade corn futures weakened on Friday as farmers were poised to advance U.S. harvesting over the weekend, analysts said.
Drier weather is expected to favor harvesting at least into the early days of September, Commodity Weather Group said.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is forecasting the largest-ever U.S. harvest this fall with record-large yields.
Scattered reports have suggested that dry weather and plant diseases reduced yields in some areas.
The USDA is scheduled to issue an update on harvesting progress in a weekly report on Monday.
On Tuesday, the agency is slated to issue quarterly grain stocks data.
Traders adjusted positions ahead of the stocks report and the end of the quarter.
CBOT December corn CZ25 closed down 3-3/4 cents at $4.22 per bushel. The contract eased 0.5% for the week.
