US Cash Grains-Corn basis bids down at processors, elevators, ethanol plants

Sept 17 (Reuters) - Corn basis bids were steady to lower at processors, elevators and ethanol plants, and mixed at river terminals in a spot check of locations around the U.S. Midwest on Wednesday.

• The soybean basis fell sharply at a processor in Council Bluffs, Iowa and rose sharply at a river terminal in Toledo, Ohio.

• The corn basis fell at a processor in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, an elevator in Blair, Nebraska and an ethanol plant in Linden, Indiana.

• Mostly dry weather is expected to aid harvest progress in the U.S. Midwest in the coming weeks, according to Commodity Weather Group.

• On the Chicago Board of Trade, corn and soybean futures sagged on Wednesday, retreating from multi-week highs on profit-taking and an uptick in the dollar, while a drop in soyoil futures added pressure, analysts said. GRA/
