  • CBOT wheat futures ticked up slightly, underpinned by strong exports, though ample global supply remains a curb on the market.

  • A stronger dollar tends to make U.S. exports more expensive and less competitive on the global market.

  • A South Korean flour mill has issued an international tender to purchase around 30,000 metric tons of milling wheat to be sourced from the United States, European traders said on Wednesday.

  • CBOT December soft red winter wheat WZ25 was last up 1/4 cent at $5.34-1/4 per bushel. K.C. December hard red winter wheat KWZ25 last traded down 1/4 cent at $5.23-1/4 a bushel and Minneapolis December wheat MWEZ25 traded flat at $5.76-1/2 a bushel.

CORN - Steady to up 1 cent per bushel

  • CBOT corn Cv1 futures pared gains as traders expected a large crop, though brisk export demand has lent support.

  • U.S. farmers will harvest a record corn crop this autumn, eclipsing the previous record set two years ago by nearly 1.5 billion bushels after gathering their largest acreage in 92 years, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said on Friday.

  • Doubts over how strong U.S. yields will be have also lent some support. Weekly USDA data on Monday showed weaker crop ratings for corn.

  • CBOT December corn CZ25 was last up 1/2 cent at $4.30 per bushel.

SOYBEANS - Up 1 to 2 cents per bushel

  • CBOT soybean Sv1 futures ticked up as news of a call between U.S. president Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping boosted hopes for a breakthrough in a trade dispute between the two countries. GRA/

  • China has yet to book any U.S. soybeans from the 2025 harvest, though the market remained cautious pending any agreements on soybean purchases.

  • CBOT November soybeans SX25 were last up 1-1/4 cents at $10.51 per bushel.
