ReutersSep 16, 2025 1:23 PM

- The following are U.S. expectations for the resumption of grain and soy complex trading at the Chicago Board of Trade at 8:30 a.m. CDT (1330 GMT) on Tuesday.

WHEAT - Up 3 to 5 cents per bushel

  • A weaker dollar tends to make U.S. exports cheaper and therefore more competitive on the global market.

  • News that Russia, the world's largest wheat exporter, will nearly triple its wheat export duty from September 17 has also boosted the prospects of rival suppliers.

  • France's farm ministry on Tuesday increased its estimate of this year's soft wheat harvest to 33.3 million metric tons, up from 33.1 million projected last month and now 29.8% above 2024, confirming a sharp rebound from last year's rain-hit crop.

  • CBOT December soft red winter wheat WZ25 was last up 4-3/4 cents at $5.29-3/4 per bushel. K.C. December hard red winter wheat KWZ25 last traded up 6 cents at $5.20 a bushel and Minneapolis December wheat MWEZ25 traded flat at 2 cents at $5.71-3/4 a bushel.

CORN - Up 2 to 4 cents per bushel

  • CBOT corn Cv1 futures firmed as strong export demand supported corn prices in the face of a record expected U.S. harvest getting under way.

  • U.S. farmers will harvest a record corn crop this autumn, eclipsing the previous record set two years ago by nearly 1.5 billion bushels after gathering their largest acreage in 92 years, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said on Friday.

  • Doubts over how strong U.S. yields will be have also lent some support. Weekly USDA data on Monday showed weaker crop ratings for corn.

  • CBOT December corn CZ25 was last up 3-3/4 cents at $4.27 per bushel.

SOYBEANS - Up 6 to 7 cents per bushel

  • CBOT soybean Sv1 futures ticked up on news of a call to be held between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping this Friday.

  • China, the world's top soy buyer, has so far avoided U.S. supplies for the 2025/26 crop year as the countries remain locked in a trade dispute.

  • CBOT November soybeans SX25 were last up 6 cents at $10.48-3/4 per bushel.
