CHICAGO, Sept 11 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for corn were mixed in the U.S. Midwest on Thursday, dealers said, after some farmers have recently been delivering old-crop supplies to grain elevators.
The corn basis rose by 4 cents a bushel at an elevator in Cincinnati, Ohio, and by 8 cents at a river terminal in Seneca, Illinois.
The basis eased by 2 cents at a processor in Blair, Nebraska.
For soybeans, the basis fell by 10 cents at a processor in Morristown, Indiana, and was flat elsewhere.
Corn and soy harvesting were in early stages in the Midwest.
Farmers and grain traders are waiting for the U.S. Department of Agriculture to issue updated crop production and yield estimates in a monthly report on Friday.
Analysts surveyed by Reuters on average expect the agency will trim its national yield estimates for both crops, though the corn harvest would still be the largest on record.
Basis values are quoted against CBOT futures in cents/bu:
