SINGAPORE, Sept 11 (Reuters) - Onshore fuel oil stockpiles in Singapore, a key storage hub, eased this week as imports declined following a sharp increase last week, official data showed on Thursday.
Inventories for residual fuel STKRS-SIN slipped to 26.53 million barrels (4.18 million metric tons) in the week ended September 10, down 3.2% from the previous week, based on Enterprise Singapore data. O/SING1
Last week, the inventories built to their highest point in more than eight months amid strong import volumes, with current levels still holding well above average levels.
Imports totalled about 745,000 tons during the week, dipping from over 1 million tons last week. Kuwait was the top supplier for the import volumes.
Exports from storage tanks totalled nearly 162,000 tons, down week-on-week, with most volumes bound for Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Hong Kong.
A persistently high level of inventory has capped fuel oil markets from recovering in Asia, with spot differentials for the key low-sulphur grade still stuck in discounts this week. FUEL/A
