US Cash Grains-Soybean processor basis bids steady-to-lower

CHICAGO, Aug 25 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for soybeans delivered to U.S. Midwest processors were steady-to-lower on Monday due to easing demand, while corn bids fell at some ethanol plants, grain merchants said.

• Soy processors have lowered their bids as some facilities are set to suspend operations for seasonal maintenance and repairs.

• A processor in Lincoln, Nebraska, dropped its spot bid by 15 cents a bushel.

• Farmers were projected to start harvesting a record-breaking corn crop in the coming weeks, bringing fresh supplies to grain elevators and processing facilities.

• The U.S. Department of Agriculture will likely trim its U.S. corn and soybean crop ratings in a weekly report due later on Monday, analysts said in a Reuters poll, though large harvests were still expected.

• Chicago Board of Trade soy futures Sv1 fell, while corn futures Cv1 were nearly unchanged in afternoon trading.
