Aug 20 - (The Insurer) - Energy Insurance Mutual (EIM) veteran Jill Dominguez will bring her 30-plus-year association with the organization to an end at 2025’s close, with recent recruit Laura Lam named as her successor in the chief underwriting officer role.
Dominguez joined EIM in 1993 from Fireman’s Fund and was appointed underwriting manager three years later. She assumed the role of CUO in 1999.
EIM said Dominguez has helped steer the organization through times of growth and transformation.
“For decades, EIM and Jill Dominguez have been synonymous, and it is hard to think of one without the other,” said EIM president and CEO Tommy Bolton in a LinkedIn post.
When Dominguez retires at year-end, she will be succeeded by Lam, who joined EIM from The Hartford as director, casualty underwriting in June.
Lam, whose career stretches over 16 years and has included stints at Travelers, Zurich and Swiss Re, most recently served The Hartford as an underwriting director.
EIM said Lam will be supported throughout the transition by its underwriting team to ensure no disruption to its members and partners.
Based in Tampa, Florida, EIM is a mutually owned excess liability insurance carrier whose members operate in the utilities and energy industries.
It offers members excess products including general liability, D&O, fiduciary liability, general partners coverage and cyber, with coverage providing protection for losses of at least $35 million.
EIM also offers members property capacity of up to $35 million.
