Aug 15 (Reuters) - Hurricane Erin has intensified into a category 2 hurricane, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said on Friday.
Hurricane Erin is about 250 miles (400 km) east-northeast of Anguilla with maximum sustained winds of 100 mph (160 kmph), the Miami-based forecaster said.
The hurricane is expected to rapidly intensify into a major one this weekend, NHC said.
