CHICAGO, Aug 11 (Reuters) - Basis bids for corn were flat to higher at processors on Monday, and flat to lower at river terminals. Bids for soybeans were steady to mixed at processors, steady to down at river terminals.
The corn basis rose 3 cents at a processor in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It fell 5 cents at a river terminal in Toledo, Ohio.
The soybean basis fell 5 cents at the processor in Cedar Rapids and rose 5 cents at a processor in Lafayette, Indiana. It fell 5 cents at the river terminal in Toledo, Ohio.
U.S. soybean futures rallied to a two-week high on Monday after President Donald Trump said he hoped China would quadruple its soybean buying from the United States and as forecasts of hot, dry U.S. weather sparked some concern about yields.
Corn futures followed soybeans higher as traders expected that more Chinese purchases of U.S. farm products could be part of any eventual U.S.-China trade deal. GRA/
As of 12:58 p.m. (1758 GMT) CBOT August soybeans SQ25 rose 24-1/4 cents to $9.91 a bushel and the new-crop November contract SX25 was up 22-3/4 cents at $10.10-1/4 a bushel.
CBOT September corn futures CU25 were up 2-1/4 cents at $3.85 a bushel and new-crop December corn CZ25 was up 2-1/2 cents at $4.08 a bushel.
