NEW YORK, Aug 4 (Reuters) - Cocoa futures on ICE slid on Monday amid worries over the effects of President Donald Trump's trade tariffs and weak U.S. jobs data .
The Trump administration last week imposed a slew of tariffs on dozens of trading partners, which could raise domestic U.S. prices and hurt demand for commodities.
COCOA
* London cocoa futures LCCc2 settled down 117 pounds, or 2.2%, at 5,267 pounds per metric ton, having hit a one-week low of 5,203.
* Shares in Barry Callebaut BARN.S, the world's top chocolate maker, slid 4%, with analysts noting the firm is exposed to tariffs as it imports cocoa into the U.S. from countries such as Ivory Coast, Ghana and Brazil.
* The U.S. commerce secretary said last week commodities not grown in the U.S. could be exempt from tariffs if deals with producing countries are reached, but there are many deals yet to be closed.
* In the absence of deals, tariffs of 15% will apply to top producer Ivory Coast, 10% will apply to No. 2 and No. 3 producers Ghana and Ecuador, while 50% will apply to Brazil.
* Ghana raised the fixed price paid to cocoa farmers by 4% for 2025/26, and said it was targeting output for the season of 650,000 tons.
* New York futures CCc1 fell 1.6% to $8,102 a ton.
COFFEE
* Arabica coffee futures KCc1 settled up 4.35 cents, or 1.5%, at $2.8855 per lb, recovering after hitting their lowest since mid-November on Friday.
* Dealers noted comments by Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva that he was still open to U.S. trade talks, and speculated as to whether Friday's weak U.S. jobs report would pressure the U.S. into pulling back some of its tariff threats.
* The U.S. is the world's top coffee consumer and it imports about a third of its coffee from top producer Brazil.
* China has approved 183 Brazilian coffee companies to supply the Chinese market.
* Robusta coffee LRCc2 rose 2.4% to $3,338 a ton.
SUGAR
* Raw sugar SBc1 settled up 0.07 cent, or 0.4%, at 16.25 cents per lb.
* French sugar maker Tereos said lower production and sales volumes in Europe could lead to a price recovery later this year.
* White sugar LSUc1 rose 0.8% to $468.80 a ton.
* Pakistan has issued a new tender to purchase 100,000 tons of white refined sugar, European traders said.
