US Cash Grains-Soybean basis steady to weaker at processors

CHICAGO, Aug 4 (Reuters) - Basis bids for soybeans were flat to lower at processors and corn basis bids were flat to lower at river terminals and ethanol plants in the U.S. Midwest on Monday, a spot check of locations showed.

• The soybean basis fell at processors in Decatur, Indiana, Lafayette, Indiana and Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

• The corn basis fell at river terminals in Toledo, Ohio and Savanna, Illinois. It also fell at an ethanol plant in Union City, Indiana.

• The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported export inspections for the week ended July 31 at 1,207,642 metric tons for corn, and 612,539 metric tons for soybeans.

• Weather in the U.S. Midwest corn belt was expected to be non-threatening, benefitting corn and soybean crop development into the beginning of August, according to forecasters.

• As of 11:38 a.m. CST (1638 GMT) CBOT September corn futures CU25 were down 1-1/4 cents at $3.88-1/4 a bushel and new-crop December corn CZ25 was down 2 cents at $4.08-3/4 a bushel.

• CBOT August soybeans SQ25 ended up 8 cents at $9.69-3/4 a bushel and the new-crop November contract SX25 was up 7 cents at $9.96-1/4.
