CHICAGO, Aug 4 (Reuters) - Basis bids for soybeans were flat to lower at processors and corn basis bids were flat to lower at river terminals and ethanol plants in the U.S. Midwest on Monday, a spot check of locations showed.
The soybean basis fell at processors in Decatur, Indiana, Lafayette, Indiana and Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The corn basis fell at river terminals in Toledo, Ohio and Savanna, Illinois. It also fell at an ethanol plant in Union City, Indiana.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported export inspections for the week ended July 31 at 1,207,642 metric tons for corn, and 612,539 metric tons for soybeans.
Weather in the U.S. Midwest corn belt was expected to be non-threatening, benefitting corn and soybean crop development into the beginning of August, according to forecasters.
As of 11:38 a.m. CST (1638 GMT) CBOT September corn futures CU25 were down 1-1/4 cents at $3.88-1/4 a bushel and new-crop December corn CZ25 was down 2 cents at $4.08-3/4 a bushel.
CBOT August soybeans SQ25 ended up 8 cents at $9.69-3/4 a bushel and the new-crop November contract SX25 was up 7 cents at $9.96-1/4.
