US Cash Grains-Soybean basis steady to weaker at elevators, processors, river terminals

CHICAGO, Aug 1 (Reuters) - Basis bids for soybeans were flat to lower at elevators, processors and river terminals in a spot check of facilities in the U.S. Midwest on Friday, as some locations rolled to the November contract and some buyers had acquired adequate supplies until the harvest.

• The soybean basis fell at processors in Decatur, Illinois and Lincoln, Nebraska.

• The soybean basis also fell at an elevator in Cincinnati, Ohio and a river terminal in Davenport, Iowa as they rolled their basis to the November contract.

• The corn basis rose at processors and river terminals and was mixed at ethanol plants.

• Analysts said some buyers have enough supply coverage until the autumn harvest, and demand is sluggish.

• As of 12:17 p.m. CST (1517 GMT) CBOT September corn futures CU25 were down 4 cents at $3.90 a bushel and new-crop December corn CZ25 was down 2-1/4 cents at $4.11-1/2 a bushel.

• CBOT August soybeans SQ25 ended up 2 cents at $9.63-3/4 a bushel and the new-crop November contract SX25 was up 1-1/4 cents at $9.90-1/2.
