CHICAGO, July 30 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for hard red winter wheat were steady in a spot check of the southern U.S. Plains on Wednesday as some locations reported a slight increase in farmer's selling.
Bangladesh's government has approved the purchase of about 220,000 metric tons of wheat from the United States as part of an effort to cool trade tensions and reduce steep import tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump's administration, a Dhaka official said on Wednesday.
Demand for U.S. wheat from Bangladesh helped support gains in K.C. wheat futures, a broker said.
The rise in K.C. wheat futures motivated some farmers to sell as the harvest wraps up, said one dealer.
Protein premiums for railcar wheat shipped to and through Kansas City fell 12 cents for "ordinary" wheat through wheat with 11.6% protein, 13 cents for wheat with 11.8% protein, 10 cents for 12 to 12.2% protein and 25 cents for wheat with 12.6% protein. It was unchanged for all other grades of wheat. KCBT/SCA
