CHICAGO, July 21 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for corn tipped lower while soybean bids rose on Monday as futures ticked lower and cash trade remained slow.
Chicago corn and soybean futures fell on forecasts for crop-friendly rain in U.S. grain belts this week.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture rated 74% of the U.S. corn crop in good-excellent condition as of Sunday, the highest rating for this time of year since 2016 and unchanged from the previous week.
The USDA rated 68% of the soybean crop in good-excellent condition, down from 70% the previous week and below the average analyst estimate.
Chicago Board of Trade most active corn Cv1 finished down 5-1/2 cents at $4.22-1/4 a bushel. Soybeans Sv1 were down 9-3/4 cents at $10.26 a bushel, while wheat Wv1 was down 4 cents at $5.42-1/4 a bushel.
