July 16 (Reuters) - PJM Interconnection has issued a "maximum generation alert" and a "load management alert" for July 16 to ensure the reliable delivery of electricity for customers across 13 states and the District of Columbia, it said on Tuesday.
The alerts serve as a procedural step, allowing affected neighboring regions to plan accordingly.
The largest grid operator in the U.S. said in a release that "a Maximum Generation Alert was also in effect for July 15 and PJM operated without incident Tuesday."
PJM forecasts a peak load of approximately 145,000 MW on July 16.
