July 15 (Reuters) - The Federal Trade Commission denied a request by Scott Sheffield, the founder and former CEO of Pioneer Natural Resources, to reopen and set aside a final consent order involving ExxonMobil's XOM.N acquisition of Pioneer, the commission said on Tuesday.
The commission ruled to deny Sheffield's petition because he is not a party to the final order and therefore cannot make use of the petition process, the FTC said in a statement.
