KUALA LUMPUR, July 8 (Reuters) - Malaysia's Plantation and Commodities Minister Johari Abdul Ghani said on Tuesday a 25% tariff rate on its exports to the United States would be on top of an existing base tariff of 10% imposed by President Donald Trump's administration.
Citing Malaysia's trade minister, Johari said the 25% rate was added following the end of a 90-day pause by the United States on the implementation of the tariffs, pending negotations with trade partners.
Malaysia's trade ministry did not immediately respond to a request for comment on his remarks.
