CIF/FOB Gulf Grain-Corn barge bids steady to higher; soy bids firm

CHICAGO, July 3 (Reuters) - Basis bids for corn and soybeans shipped by barge to the U.S. Gulf Coast for export were steady to higher on Thursday, as U.S. grain and oilseed futures firmed ahead of the long U.S. Independence Day holiday weekend, traders said.

• A mix of showers and warm, mild weather is set to continue in the U.S. Midwest corn belt, with traders currently seeing limited threats to the crop as it approaches the crucial pollination stage.

• The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported weekly U.S. soybean export sales were 462,435 metric tons for 2024-25 and 239,046 metric tons for 2025-26, the USDA said. Analysts expected 300,000 to 700,000 metric tons for 2024-25 and zero to 300,000 metric tons for 2025-26. EXP/SOY

• CIF corn barges loaded in July traded at 73 cents over CBOT July futures CN25.

• CIF corn barges loaded in July ticked up 1 cent at 72 cents over CBOT July futures CN25. Barges loaded in August were bid at 82 cents over September futures CU25, steady from Wednesday.

• FOB export premiums for corn shipped from the Gulf in July rose 1 cent, offered at 80 cents over July futures; August shipments were up 5 cents, offered at 94 cents over September futures CU25.

• CIF soybean barge bids for first-half of July loadings traded at 79 cents over CBOT August futures SQ25. September loadings traded at 77 cents over CBOT November soybean futures SX25, and October loadings traded at 74 cents over November futures.

• CIF soybean barge bids for July loadings were bid at 80 cents over July futures, up 4 cents. Soybeans loaded in August were bid at 82 cents over August futures SQ25, steady from Wednesday.

• FOB export premiums for soybeans loaded in July were up 1 cent, offered at around 84 cents over August futures SQ25. August premiums were at 85 cents over August futures, steady from Wednesday.
