CIF/FOB Gulf Grain-Soybean barge bids steady-higher, corn steady-lower

CHICAGO, June 30 (Reuters) - Basis bids for soybeans shipped by barge to the U.S. Gulf Coast for export were steady to higher on Monday, while bids for corn were steady to lower as South American supplies pressured market demand, traders said.

• Chicago Board of Trade corn futures closed mostly lower on Monday as generally favorable U.S. crop conditions signaled strong production prospects that overshadowed a slightly smaller-than-expected U.S. plantings figure, traders said. GRA/

• Meanwhile, export demand for U.S. corn in the spot market has seen growing pressure from hefty South American supplies, traders said.

• The USDA reported export inspections of U.S. corn in the latest week at 1,369,961 metric tons, in line with trade estimates for 1,250,000 to 1,665,000 tons. USDA/I

• Corn is firming in some cash markets in the central U.S., particularly going into late-summer, and is outpacing the pricing trends seen recently in freight, two brokers said.

• The U.S. Department of Agriculture on Monday confirmed private sales of 204,000 metric tons of U.S. soybean cake and meal to unknown destinations for shipment in the 2025/26 marketing year.

• CIF corn barges loaded in July traded at 71, 72 and 73 cents over Chicago Board of Trade July futures CN25, brokers said.

• CIF corn barges loaded in June were steady at 71 cents over Chicago Board of Trade July futures CN25 while July barge bids eased 1 cent to 71 cents over futures.

• FOB export premiums for corn shipped from the Gulf in July held steady at 77 cents over July futures while August shipments were offered 1 cent lower at 84 cents over September futures CU25.

• CIF soybean barge bids for June loadings were unchanged and thinly bid, at 65 cents over CBOT July futures SN25; July barge bids ticked up 2 cents at 75 cents over July futures.

• FOB export premiums for soybeans loaded in July were about 1 cent higher at around 81 cents over August futures SQ25. August premiums firmed 1 cent, to 83 cents over August futures.
