CBOT soybeans fall on weaker soyoil, crude oil futures

ReutersJun 24, 2025 6:46 PM

- Chicago Board of Trade soybean futures fell on Tuesday on spillover weakness from soyoil and crude oil futures.

  • CBOT August soybeans SX25 ended 11-3/4 cents lower at $10.50-1/4 a bushel.

  • CBOT December soyoil BOZ25 ended down 1.1 cents at 52.25 cents per pound and August soymeal SMN25 settled down 2.1 cents at $284.80 per short ton.

  • Oil prices tumbled on Tuesday after President Donald Trump said a ceasefire has been reached between Iran and Israel, though he later accused both sides of violating the accord. Continued tensions between Iran and Israel are expected to add volatility to the market.

  • The U.S. Department of Agriculture rated soybean conditions lower than anticipated at 66% good to excellent, unchanged from last week but a point below the average analyst estimate. Planting of that crop was 96% finished as of Sunday, the agency said.

  • Warm, rainy weather in the U.S. Midwest is expected to aid crop development in the coming days, according to forecasters.
