EU's von der Leyen speaks with Israeli president, urges restraint amid Iran tensions
June 13 (Reuters) - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Thursday she had spoken with Israeli President Isaac Herzog about the escalating situation in the Middle East and urged all sides to show maximum restraint.
"I reiterated Israel's right to defend itself and protect its people," von der Leyen said in a post on X. "At the same time, preserving regional stability is vital."
