CHICAGO, June 12 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for U.S. soybeans were steady to weaker at processing facilities and river terminals in the U.S. Midwest on Thursday. Analysts said processors had plenty of supplies and grain shipping terminals in the Pacific Northwest were receiving more business, leaving Midwest locations with less demand for the oilseed.
ADM facilities began rolling from the July to the November contract on Wednesday and other locations started following suit.
A soybean processor in Sioux City, Iowa, owned by Cargill also rolled on to the November contract.
The soybean basis fell at a processor in Lafayette, Indiana.
The soybean basis also retreated at a river terminal in Toledo, Ohio.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported export sales of U.S. old-crop soybeans in the week ended June 5 at 61,400 metric tons, a marketing-year low that fell below trade expectations for 100,000 to 400,000 tons. Sales of new-crop soybeans for the week totaled 58,100 tons, toward the low end of expectations. EXP/SOY
CBOT July soybeans SN25 settled down 8-1/4 cents at $10.42-1/4 per bushel while new-crop November beans SX25 ended down 2 cents at $10.27-1/4.
CBOT July corn CN25 settled up 1-1/2 cents at $4.38-1/2 per bushel and new-crop December corn CZ25 ended up 3/4 cent at $4.40-1/2 a bushel.
