US Cash Grains-Soy, corn basis steady in muted trade

CHICAGO, May 27 (Reuters) - Spot soybean and corn basis bids were flat in the U.S. Midwest on Tuesday amid slow farmer selling and tepid demand, dealers said.

• Soy and corn bids were steady, spot checks showed.

• The wheat basis ticked higher at an Ohio elevator.

• Chicago futures resumed trading on Tuesday after a holiday closure on Monday for Memorial Day in the United States.

• Corn futures were curbed by a bounce in the dollar and favorable crop prospects in Brazil, while soybeans rose as U.S. President Donald Trump backed off on European Union tariff threats.

• CBOT July corn futures CN25 settled even on Tuesday at $4.59-1/2 per bushel.

• July soybeans SN25 settled up 2-1/4 cents at $10.62-1/2 a bushel.
