US Cash Grains-Spot basis for corn, soybeans flat to higher

CHICAGO, May 16 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for corn and soybeans were mostly steady to higher at U.S. Midwest processors and elevators on Friday as some locations provided selling incentives to farmers busy with planting, according to dealers.

• The corn basis improved by 5 cents in Linden, Indiana.

• The soybean basis rose by 10 cents in Lafayette, Indiana.

• Midwest rains are set to expand from Sunday to Wednesday, replenishing moisture supplies and assisting crop growth in key corn and soybean growing areas, Commodity Weather Group said on Friday.

• CBOT corn futures Cv1 ticked down 3 cents to $4.45-1/2 per bushel at 11:27 a.m. CST (1627 GMT).

• CBOT soybean futures Sv1 fell 1 cent to $10.50-1/4 per bushel.
