* Corn futures fell as South American production is expected to rise this year.

* Brazilian second-corn farmers are poised to increase production by 11% this year to an estimated 99.8 million metric tons, national crop agency Conab said on Thursday, citing good weather in key growing regions.

* Brazil's corn output is forecast to hit around 125 million metric tons in the 2024/25 crop, Paulo Bertolini, president of Abramilho, the Brazilian Association of Corn and Sorghum Producers, said on Wednesday, adding that the ethanol industry's consumption of corn could soon more than double.

* On Wednesday, agribusiness consultancy AgResource estimated U.S. soybean exports may drop 20% and that prices will plunge if the U.S. and China fail to resolve their trade dispute.
