US Cash Grains-Spot corn basis mostly steady to higher, soybean basis mostly steady to lower

CHICAGO, May 14 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for corn were mostly steady to higher at U.S. Midwest processors, river terminals and ethanol plants on Wednesday. Spot basis bids for soybeans were mostly steady to lower at elevators and processors.

• The corn basis rose by 3 cents at a processor in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and a river terminal in Seneca, Illinois. It rose by 4 cents at an ethanol plant in Union City, Indiana.

• The soybean basis fell by 3 cents at a processor in Decatur, Illinois and an elevator in Cincinnati, Ohio.

• Dealers are trying to lure farmers away from field work to sell corn, they said.

• On the Chicago Board of Trade, benchmark July corn futures CN25 were up 3 cents at $4.45-1/2 a bushel at 12:13 p.m. CST (1713 GMT), while July soybeans SN25 were up 5-1/4 cents at $10.77-3/4 a bushel.
