CHICAGO, May 7 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for corn rose at multiple locations in the U.S. Midwest on Wednesday and soybeans were steady to lower, spot checks showed, after some facilities emerged from scheduled downtime.
The corn basis rose by 10 cents at a processor in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and by 2 cents at an elevator in Blair, Nebraska.
The soybean basis fell 4 cents at a processor in Decatur, Illinois.
Some facilities needed additional corn after cycling through scheduled down time over the last several days, dealers said.
Corn demand is currently good, according to analysts.
Drier weather in much of the U.S. Midwest is expected to allow for more planting in the coming days, according to Commodity Weather Group.
On the Chicago Board of Trade, benchmark July corn futures CN25 were down 3-3/4 cents at $4.51-3/4 a bushel as of 12:21 a.m. CDT (1721 GMT), while July soybeans SN25 were up 1-1/4 cents at $10.42-1/2 a bushel. GRA/
