- The U.S. Gulf of Mexico can continue growing oil output to 2.4 million barrels per day (bpd) from the current production level of 1.8 million bpd, even amid volatility not seen in decades, as the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump removes obstacles for investment, oil and gas industry leaders said on Monday.

The chief executive of U.S. producer oil Oxy, Vicki Hollub, the head of the U.S. National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) Erik Milito, the chief executive of Brazil's state-run Petrobras, Magda Chambriard, and the head of Rystad Energy, Jarand Rystad, spoke at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston.
