US Cash Grains-Corn, soy bids mixed as futures fall

CHICAGO, May 1 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for corn and soybeans were mixed in the U.S. Midwest on Thursday as futures ticked down on favorable planting weather and plentiful supply.

• Farmers have been reluctant sellers as they focus on seeding their corn and soy crop.

• Buyers have continued to roll their basis bids to the July contract for corn and soy.

• Favorable weather, including good soil moisture and light rain, is expected in the U.S. Midwest. Easing rains are expected to allow farmers to seed extra corn acres.

• The USDA reported corn export sales at 1,014,400 metric tons, in line with analyst estimates.

• The USDA reported soybean export sales at 428,200 tons, in line with analyst estimates.

• Chicago Board of Trade July soybean futures SN25 were last down 1-1/2 cents at $10.43 per bushel around midday.

• CBOT July corn CN25 was last down 3-1/2 cents at $4.72 per bushel.
