US-Ukraine minerals deal economic partnership, signal to Russia, Bessent says

WASHINGTON, May 1 (Reuters) - The U.S.-Ukraine minerals deal is a full economic partnership that will that allow President Donald Trump to negotiate with Russia on a stronger basis, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in an interview on Thursday.
The deal will show "Russian leadership that there is no daylight between the Ukrainian people and the American people, between our goals," Bessent said in an interview with Fox Business Network.
