- Chicago Board of Trade corn futures settled up Monday on positioning ahead of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's upcoming supply and demand report, due Thursday, and on wet weather affecting corn-growing areas of the central U.S., according to analysts.

  • CBOT May corn CK25 closed up 4-1/2 cents at $4.69 a bushel.

  • The USDA is expected on Thursday to report U.S. corn ending stocks at 1.405-1.605 billion bushels, according to a Reuters poll of analysts.

  • The agency is expected to report global corn ending stocks at 286.30-290.00 million metric tons.

  • Heavy rains in the southern Midwest, Delta, and Southeast last week stalled corn planting in those areas of the U.S., according to weather forecaster Maxar.
