Ukrainian military dismisses as 'fake' Russian statement on attacks on energy sites

April 5 (Reuters) - Ukraine's military dismissed as fake a Russian statement that Kyiv was multiplying attacks on energy targets in violation of a U.S.-brokered moratorium on such strikes.

"New disinformation accusations have been issued by the Russian side regarding the alleged 14 'attacks' by the Ukrainian Defence Forces against Russian energy infrastructure on April 4. The 'attacks' are fake," Ukraine's General Staff said on Telegram.

It said Ukrainian strikes were carried out "strictly on the military targets of the Russian occupying army".

The statement also said a Russian strike on a residential district of the central Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih on Friday involved the use of a cluster weapon. Attacks on the city killed 19 people.
