April 1 (Reuters) - Chicago Board of Trade wheat futures firmed on Tuesday as the market continued to react to lower than expected 2025 planting intentions numbers from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, according to analysts.
CBOT May soft red winter wheat WK25 settled up 3-1/2 cents at $5.40-1/2 per bushel.
K.C. May hard red winter wheat KWK25 ended up 8-1/4 cents at $5.65-1/4 per bushel and Minneapolis May spring wheat MWEK25 rose 2 cents to finish at $5.94 a bushel.
The USDA projected all U.S. wheat plantings would fall to 45.350 million acres, down from 46.079 million in 2024, and lower than expectations of analysts polled by Reuters, who predicted all wheat plantings would rise to 46.475 million acres.
The Ukrainian agriculture ministry will not revise the volume of wheat available for export in the current 2024/25 July-June season despite the relatively high pace of shipments, the first deputy minister said on Tuesday.
