US Cash Grains-Corn bids higher amid slow farmer selling

CHICAGO, March 28 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for corn were higher on Friday, following a multiday pattern of increases while soy bids were mixed, dealers said.

Spot corn bids rose at an Iowa ethanol plant and an Ohio elevator.

Spot soy bids increased at an Iowa processor and fell at an Ohio elevator.

Soy and corn bids have steadily risen this week as slow farmer selling prompted processors and other buyers to raise bids to entice selling.

Grain futures have seesawed ahead of the USDA's quarterly stocks and planting intentions reports on Monday.

Chicago Board of Trade corn futures slumped earlier on Friday to the lowest price in more than three months on expectations of increased U.S. planting. Soybeans also fell as the previous day's rally in byproduct soy oil petered out.

Chicago Board of Trade May corn futures CK25 rose 1/4 cent to $4.50-1/4 per bushel as of midday. May soybeans SK25 were up 1-1/2 cents at $10.18-1/4 a bushel.
