Parsyl hires Loadsure's Calligeros as NA cargo head

March 18 - (The Insurer) - Supply chain-focused insurtech Parsyl has appointed Ted Calligeros as its North America head of cargo.

In his new role, Calligeros will focus on Parsyl's underwriting strategy and its expansion across North America. He will establish a local office in New York City.

Calligeros has joined from a stint as an executive vice president at Loadsure, where he led ocean cargo and inland marine underwriting. He also spent eight years in cargo underwriting roles at Allianz.

In January, Parsyl raised $20 million in a Series C funding round led by The Lightsmith Group. Parsyl said this funding will be focused on accelerating its growth strategy with a focus on underserved food, beverage and pharmaceutical products in the marine cargo space.
