MADRID, Feb 18 (Reuters) - Spanish gas grid operator Enagas ENAG.MC posted on Tuesday a loss of 299.3 million euros ($312.95 million)for 2024 after capital hits related to the sale of an asset in the United States and an arbitration on an investment in Peru.
The 2024 loss compares to a net profit of 342.5 million euros in 2023.
The company reported a 245.7 million euro capital loss related to the arbitration over its investment to build a natural gas pipeline in Peru, known as Gasoducto Sur Peruano (GSP). The loss stems from the difference between the sum Peru was ultimately ordered to pay Enagas, $194 million, and the amount it had in its books.
Enagas also booked an accounting loss of 364 million euros on the sale of a 30.2% stake in U.S. energy infrastructure company Tallgrass Energy it announced in July.
Excluding one-offs, the company said profit stood at 310.1 million euros, above its target of between 270 million euros and 280 million euros.
