US Plains HRW Wheat-Basis flat with limited farmer sales

ReutersFeb 12, 2025 9:17 PM

- Basis bids for hard red winter wheat were steady at locations in the U.S. Southern Plains on Wednesday with slow farmer selling, according to dealers.

Protein premiums for HRW wheat shipped by rail to or through Kansas City rose by 7 cents for "ordinary" protein content wheat. Premiums for other grades were unchanged. KCBT/SCA

Dry conditions in the Southern Plains over the next few weeks could stress hard red winter wheat crops, according to Commodity Weather Group.

K.C. March hard red winter wheat KWH25 settled down 1-1/4 cents at $5.91-1/2 per bushel. WHE/C
