EU determined to protect steel and aluminium sector, Poland says

Feb 12 (Reuters) - EU member states are determined to protect the European steel and aluminium sector against possible market destabilisation, and remain open to negotiations with the U.S. on tariffs, Poland's trade minister said after a video conference with EU colleagues on Wednesday.

"We will support the European Commission in being active in responding proportionally and responsibly when necessary. At the same time, we want to maintain the offer of positive cooperation with the U.S., so as to jointly remove barriers on the transatlantic market and foster economic security," Krzysztof Paszyk said.
